Hi marypaul, I think the following flyer may help you calculate your return on investment... which is a lot sooner than you think when you consider the average cost of something like a non-GMO, pesticide-free beefsteak and/or cherry tomato... and the fact that you can harvest daily baskets of them from a TG (see photo below)...
TG-Veggie Cost Comparison
Do you have a copy of this actual article?
Are there actual magazines like this you would recommend that may improve our skills with TG?
Hello, I'm new to Tower Talk. I joined because I'm thinking about purchasing a tower to grow vegetable for the farmer's market.
Does anybody else do this? I'm wondering if it's profitable because the cost of the tower is so much$.
Ever since I received my tower I've been thinking of ways to move use the volume of produce this can put out. I'm growing some lettuces, green onion, bush belle and zavory peppers, Roma tomatoes, cilantro, basil, garlic chives and more. Stuff is just growing like crazy.
As for the cost, I must live in a really expensive area because I don't think the cost of the Tower is that expensive. Especially since I can purchase it in payments. I added everything I could to my payment plan and I pay $71 a month. This clearly outweighs the cost of produce I WAS buying every few days. I was spending between $30 and $60 a week on produce. Now I purchase minimal items like some fruits and veggies that I currently am not set up to grow.
